When you think of cannabis, the last thing that might come to mind is deadlifts or dance cardio - but for me, cannabis became a tool in my journey to reclaim my body, my energy, my peace.
There was a time when I felt utterly disconnected. I was tired, overwhelmed, and honestly surviving on autopilot. Movement didn’t feel fun anymore - it felt like a chore. I was overthinking everything and under-feeling my own joy. That’s when I started approaching fitness differently - through my senses, through stillness, through cannabis
A New Kind of Mind-Body Connection
When I first introduced cannabis into my recovery days, it was all about tuning in. I wasn’t there to push; I was there to listen. Suddenly, my stretch sessions became meditative. My yoga practice felt like a conversation with my body, not a to-do list. I feel grounded, playful, and reconnected to myself.
Fun Fact: Cannabis may stimulate the endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate pain, mood, and even motivation. It’s not about getting high - it’s about getting in tune
Not Lazy - Just Listening
There’s a stigma around cannabis in fitness culture. People assume you’re lazy or lack drive. But the truth? Cannabis helped me slow down and get intentional. It helped me focus on form. It helped me enjoy the process of movement again ✨
It was never about numbing - it was about amplifying the experience
How I Use Cannabis in My Training Now:
Recovery & Reflection: I love incorporating cannabis into my rest days or mobility sessions. It helps reduce soreness, quiet my racing thoughts, and allows me to stretch deeper — physically and emotionally.
Pre-Workout Boost: On days when I’m dancing or lifting intuitively, a little cannabis helps me get into a flow state — connected, present, and powerful.
Journaling & Goal Setting: Post-session, I’ll often light up, reflect, and write. Cannabis opens the door to deeper self-awareness, especially around my intentions and energy.
It’s Not for Everyone - And That’s Okay
Cannabis isn’t a magic solution 🧚♀️ It’s a tool. Just like resistance bands, meditation, or a bomb playlist —it’s about finding what supports you. You don’t need it to “be better.” But if you’ve ever felt disconnected from your workouts or just needed something to help soften the noise, it might be worth exploring — with intention, not pressure.
